Purpose of the Role: The Senior SharePoint Administrator within Group IT is responsible for the development and operational delivery of enhancements and small to medium projects across a core set of bespoke and commercial business applications, with a particular focus on Microsoft enterprise technology. This combined stakeholder management, technical co-ordination and delivery role includes providing strong application development leadership and technical expertise, as well as being responsible for co-ordinating project delivery, stakeholder communications and resolution of technical issues for end-user business customers. The Senior SharePoint Administrator will have a detailed knowledge of Microsoft enterprise applications including SharePoint, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, Office365 and Microsoft cloud based technologies. The role also includes ensuring that the delivered Microsoft solution is fit for purpose, secure and scalable. This includes the capture and translation of business requirements, design, planning, and development, testing and training for the Microsoft applications estate. A key aspect of this role will be to coordinate onshore and offshore third party developers. The role is also an escalation point for 3rd line technical analysis for issues that have not been solved through normal helpdesk escalation procedures. The person is a subject matter expert in the Microsoft applications stack focusing on SharePoint. Role Dimensions: *Close liaison with all colleagues from across Group IT and the wider businesses; *Responsible for assisting in the definition of the Microsoft SharePoint strategy, solutions and roadmap, ensuring that these meet business requirements and performance goals, and that the technical direction is consistent with Group IT strategy. *Works at a strategic level with project managers and architecture team influencing, designing and delivering service improvements and business change *Contributes and actively influences Group and Business strategies *Demonstrates technical leadership in their area of Infrastructure responsibility *There may be requirements to work out of hours (late nights / weekends); *Occasionally required to respond to support requests out of hours; *May be required to travel to remote offices and events. Principal Accountabilities: *Work with customers to gather and document both functional and technical requirements *Provide 3rd Line helpdesk support to provide SharePoint issue investigation and resolution *Implementing solution designs per SharePoint best practices, user handover, training, and documentation. *Assist with migration of legacy SharePoint environments to O365 *Provide expertise to the whole organization, covering all aspects of SharePoint *To build, monitor and manage the SharePoint services *To lead on the technical response to mission critical service outages *Specify, enhance and develop documentation for standards conformance and best practices *Specify, develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for infrastructure administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. *Take technical ownership for all Microsoft and related services and resources managed by Group IT whether on-premise or cloud based. Provide capacity and performance management for infrastructure and work with other team members to ensure future requirements are met and planned for. *Perform server and security audits. *Ensure the correct policies and processes are in place for SharePoint environment backups and retention. *Recommend, schedule, and perform server upgrades, and repairs. *Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced members of the team. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Experience level: *Knowledge of the Microsoft O365 platform and services *Deep understanding of SharePoint technologies including Office 365 SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server 2007, 2010 and SharePoint Server 2013 *Experience of SharePoint Online administration and support *Strong understanding of the OOB features in SharePoint *Advanced InfoPath and SharePoint designer workflow skills. *Ability to resolve complex SharePoint related issues in a timely manner *Good knowledge of SharePoint permissions management *PowerShell Experience *Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills. *Experience in working with customers to gather and document both functional and technical requirements *Strong knowledge of SharePoint development and delivery *Ability to communicate at all levels and provide information to a diverse stakeholder group. *Excellent stakeholder management skills. *Experience in dealing with 3rd party suppliers and working with them to achieve results. *Solid experience within a technical environment performing solution design roles across technical domains. *Ability to build and maintain strong on-going business relationships at a senior operational level with internal IT colleagues and end-user business customers. *Understanding of existing and emerging cloud-based Microsoft technologies. *Fluent English skills (written/verbal)
