Are you passionate about working with children? Are you able to put children’s learning and well-being at the forefront of everything you do? We are looking for a teacher to join our supportive and friendly Foundation Stage team in September. Our school ethos centres around well trained, fully supported and happy staff who work together to make a genuine difference. We know that this approach leads to well rounded, happy children who strive to achieve their best in all aspects of school life. Laurance Haines School is a large, vibrant two form entry primary school within a very diverse community and our aim is to deliver the highest quality teaching for all our children in a fully inclusive learning environment. According to Ofsted:

  • The leadership and management of the school are outstanding. The headteacher is an excellent leader with a very clear vision and a determination to succeed.
  • The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. Pupils display excellent attitudes to school and a clear love of learning. Pupils behave very well, both in lessons and around the school. They show good manners and are polite and welcoming.
  • Parents are very happy with the school. They appreciate its inclusive and welcoming climate and say that the school is ‘like a family’.
  • Social, moral, spiritual and cultural development is threaded through everything that the school does and is a particular strength.
  • Relationships between pupils and staff are excellent. Pupils know that their teachers want them to succeed and they try very hard as a result

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • is passionate about children and inspires them in their learning
  • has high expectations of all children
  • is enthusiastic, energetic and hardworking
  • is well-organised
  • is keen to learn and develop
  • is a good team player

We can offer you:

  • a working culture that focuses on positive learning behaviour and high expectations for all children
  • a superb standard of training and professional development (CPD)
  • potential to develop leadership skills
  • scope to innovate and opportunities to take initiative
  • an amazing sense of community across parents, volunteers and all stakeholders
  • dedicated mentoring from our non class based Assistant Headteacher
  • an experienced teacher to partner within the parallel class
  • support and encouragement from an outstanding leadership team
  • excellent resources

We welcome applications from NQTs. Our non-classed based Assistant Head will fully support you throughout your NQT year. She will nurture and mentor you through a strong induction programme which will be bespoke to your needs and will support you to develop the knowledge and skills required during your initial teacher training. A visit to the school is strongly recommended. Please contact Mrs Borlase in the school office on 01923 233146 to arrange a suitable time. Further information about our school can be found on our website.

All staff and volunteers commit to the safety and welfare of children. This post is subject to a DBS check. Applications must be made online using Hertfordshire County Council's application forms. Further details are available on our school website or via the school.
