This is a fantastic time for an experienced digital designer to join a leading gifts business during a period of rapid online growth across all digital channels. The role is based in our Harpenden office in Hertfordshire, just next to the station, which is less than 30mins commute from central London.

Enjoy a unique opportunity to really help strengthen and influence the development of the our existing gift websites as well as the opportunity to help shape a new exciting website which is currently in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the look and feel of our websites ensuring that we are using best in class photography and lifestyle shots to really sell in our brand and our product range.

Contribute to the creation of brand identities and guidelines

Create engaging web page layouts in line with branding guidelines.

Responsible for continual improvements to our site UI / UX to ensure that we maximise revenue

Create and manage website promotional activity, coming up with new, seasonal and interesting ideas to maximise sales.

Use of analytics, research and competitor analysis to plan and create promotions across the websites.

Lead our email promotional activity by both creating email templates and working with our email platform provider to ensure our email campaigns are best in class.

Maintenance of all image and design assets across our websites - including:

Creation / uploading of all product images for our varied product range – both through using our own and supplier image assets.

Responsible for planning, designing and implementing all homepage image changes and keeping the website fresh and current and visually engaging.

Responsible for planning all category page image changes to showcase the product ranges and maximise sales from the category as well as enhancing the page visually.

Working on some print advertising / design as required

Essential Skills and Experience

Commercial awareness and understanding of core ecommerce / web design principles

Experience of working with email platforms for creating promotional emails

Knowledgeable on best practise for UI / UX development

Has demonstrable web design skills with a strong portfolio

Ability to work with Google Analytics to produce reports and use data to support design enhancements / suggestions

Highly skilled in industry standard design applications (Adobe CS - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc)

Educated to a degree level with at least 2 year's digital design experience

The following skills would be advantageous:

Video creation / editing skills

Photography skills to showcase our fantastic products

Previous ecommerce experience

Familiar with HTML / CSS, working within a responsive website

Familiarity with Bronto ecommerce
