Transport Compliance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT:TRANSPORT DEPARTMENTJOB DESCRIPTION TRANSPORT COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR HOURS 6:30AM – 5:30PM MONDAY – FRIDAY 6:30AM – 1:30PM ONE SATURDAY PER MONTH
RESPONSIBILIITES·Create new employee records with initial relevant company inductions, including providing authorisation for an employee to drive a vehicle for the business.·Monitor and ensure HR and all external and internal records are updated and all employee records including CPC records are fully legally compliant at all times.·Manage inductions and training for all drivers.·Ensure all driver training is completed, update training/licensing matrix and include CPC, CSCS and other qualifications.·Ensure that adequate driving risk assessments have been completed.·Administer the vehicle defect reporting process.·Monitor and report on any drivers DVLA licence's that after checks does not meet the legal and businesses requirements.·Escalate any failures to ensure on going improvements and full compliance.·Collaborate with HR/H&S departments to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance violations.·Conduct or assist with the internal investigation of Health and Safety/HR and general best practice compliance issues.·Respond to complaints from clients and members of the public. Keep a record of complaints.·Monitor the implementation of driving at work policies and procedures.·Ensure that the bulletins on motor fleet risk management are issued to drivers.·Ensure that information on driving at work issues is effectively communicated to drivers.·Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes to our organisational processes.·Attend motor fleet risk management committee meetings when required.·Conduct regular driver/ Staff (tool-box talks) briefings to improve performance, operations, compliance, health and safety, clients concerns and other relevant issues to driver’s responsibilities.·Undertake accident investigations following the procedure established by the business.·Ensure all incidents and accidents reported are fully investigated and actions taken as necessary. ·To conduct accident investigations as and when required to ensure their adequacy.·Undertake accident analysis and provide feedback to the motor fleet risk management committee. Maintain database on all events.·Conduct regular scheduled Drivers Tacho downloads, overall monitoring and ensuring that all infringements identified from the Tachograph analysis are reported and actioned, maintain ongoing audit records.·Analyse and report on tyre and fuel usage.·Take action against any infringements reports from Tacho reports. Such action includes issuing disciplinary warning and other measures.·Administer, investigate and record on all Penalty charge notices.·Report and monitor driver behavior from the tracking software. Benchmark drivers against each other.·General administration duties·Ongoing training for Supervisor, CPC, CILT (Chartered institute of logistics and transport) etc.
