Nursery Assistant required Location: Leytonstone, London Salary: Up to £17,450 pa OTE Full time £11,200 pa OTE Part time The job offered can be either PART TIME OR FULL TIME. Part time is for 5 hours each day, 5 days per week. Our client is a fairly large nursery with an excellent local reputation and they work hard to maintain their standards. That means they are a demanding employer, when it comes to staff performance, yet they find that good staff are happier with this than working for a more slap dash operation that want less from you and care less about their children. Our client knows this by the number of staff that has left over the years, for various reasons, yet wants to come back to them later having been disappointed with jobs elsewhere. So they must be doing something right. Our client tries to provide good staff facilities and working conditions and you will find the Owners and Managers always on the premises with an open door to you. They operate a generous bonus scheme which allows you to increase your salary by up to £1850.00 full time and £1450 part time, just by coming to work. There is regular training given and they support, encourage, and facilitate your continued professional development. All their staff are first aid qualified the training for which they supply. All Senior Staff and Managers have been promoted from within and whilst they don't rule out hiring from outside, that would be very much an exception. Many of our client's staff have worked for them for many years, some developing a career, some happier to stay within the room, so whatever you are looking for, our client can probably satisfy you. They have over 100 children per day and around 50 staff so there is an opportunity for either path. Requirements needed to become the Nursery Assistant: - Naturally you will have at least an NVQ 2 or equivalent - Thorough working knowledge of the EYFS - If English is not your first language (and even if it is) our client will want you to have a good grasp of the written and spoken language in order to communicate well with children, parents and staff as well as be able to write adequate observations and reports etc. - What's more important, they will be looking for a genuine caring attitude from people with a desire to work with children who enjoy their interaction - Need to be a team player - Able to take direction - Self-motivated and work on your own initiative and contribute to the planning. Our client needs their part time staff to be flexible so that they are able to cover other staff as necessary. That's the whole point, so although you will be working mornings or afternoons, you must be able to swap. If that is not possible, please do not apply. This flexibility will be a condition of your employment. You will also be offered extra hours from time to time and although that is not a condition, our client needs people able to help them out when needed. The normal week will be 9 hours per day with an hour for lunch for full time, and 5 hours daily for part time, at the "Living Wage" of £7.50ph for over 25's or £7.05 per hour, for under 25's or PLUS the monthly bonus. The salary is reviewed each April 1st.. Please only apply if you can answer "yes" to these four questions: - Do you have an NVQ 2, 3 or equivalent qualification in CHILDCARE - If Part Time, Are you free to work mornings or afternoons and swap when necessary - Are you fully familiar with latest EYFS requirements - Do you live within one hours travel time to Leytonstone If this all sounds like you, come and take care of their children whilst our client takes care of you. If you feel that you may be suitable for this Nursery Assistant role then please apply now!
