My client is a global financial organisation seeking an experienced Learning Manager to lead and manage the Global Academy for specific GBM business lines (Banking, Markets, BCM, and Research OR GM Operations and HSS). Drives the learning agenda by working with the GBM Academy Head, Global Head of Development for GBM and other key HR stakeholders to establish the learning requirements for the defined business lines and setting the Academy strategy. Collaborates with external vendors and regional learning teams to oversee the design, testing, customisation and execution of the Academy globally.

Accountabilities:

  • Seeks to understand best practice and innovation in relation to Learning, including advancements in the use of technology
  • Works directly with the GBM Academy Head and other key GBM HR stakeholders to establish the learning requirements for their global business lines
  • Aligns learning delivery with the Group learning strategy working with other Academy leads to drive consistency and leverage knowledge and expertise
  • Collaborates with Solution Centre teams to ensure GBM learning needs are met in core Solution Centre design, communicating any GBM-specific requirements
  • Manages the design of their business line Academy curricula, drawing on solutions developed within the Solution Centres, customising these where required
  • Oversees vendors in the development of globally applicable technical content not supplied by Solution Centres
  • Ensures regional Academy teams are engaged in the requirements gathering, strategy definition and solution design
  • Oversees the piloting and testing of Academy content in Regions
  • Sets the execution requirements and principles for learning, engaging Regional teams in the definition
  • Oversees learning execution globally, acting as Design Authority over customisation and local design, ensuring policy, standards and execution principles are adhered to
  • Supports the financial crime risk agenda, working with the Mandatory and Regulatory Learning programme lead

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an expert in the learning field preferably with investment banking experience. They will need to have an eye for detail, be highly organised with the ability to build relationships with both internal stake holders and managers as well as external vendors. They will also have:

  • A bachelor degree in HR/Psychology/Organisational Development and/or business disciplines
  • A minimum of 5+ years' HR experience within fast-moving, complex and demanding corporate environments, with exposure to different markets/cultures and diverse regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrates extensive experience and track-record relating to learning delivery
  • Exposure to first-rate consultancies that set stretch benchmarks desirable
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and the ability to speak local language is desirable
  • Understanding and translating Group Strategy into Learning and aligning direction for self and teams
