Please Note:
To accommodate the opening hours of the nursery, the 22.5 hours class contact time of this 35 hour post will be worked as follows:
Between: 08:30-16:15 on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Between: 08:30-12:15 on a Friday
There will be no class contact the whole of Monday and part of Thursday afternoon.

Loretto Primary School is seeking an innovative and inspiring Class Teacher to join their established Nursery Team. The nursery is non-denominational therefore RC approval is not essential.

We are a friendly and welcoming school with excellent links to our local communities and a strong partnership with our parents. Loretto Primary School is easily accessible by road and public transport, situated in the centre of Musselburgh and also serving the communities of Whitecraig and Wallyford.

We currently have 8 classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7 and a nursery class, catering for 20 children in the morning and 20 in the afternoon. Our nursery enjoys an attractive indoor and outdoor learning environment and the traditional main school building dates from 1899.

Job Details

To undertake class-teaching duties

Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
Develop the school curriculum.
Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.

Relevant Qualifications
Appropriate primary qualification
For Permanent Posts: Full GTCS Registration is required.
For Temporary Posts: Full/Provisional GTCS Registration is required.
