Leeds Building Society is looking for a Mortgage Consultant to join our Direct Mortgages department, based at our Cobalt Office just 10 minutes from the vibrant city of Newcastle. About the role As a Mortgage Consultant, you will be the voice of Leeds Building Society, providing specialist advice and guidance on our products, whilst meeting all FCA/PRA regulatory requirements. Whether it is a first time buyer or an existing customer looking to borrow additional funds, move home, or make a variation to the original mortgage contract, you will provide expert advice to support customers in making one of life's most important decisions. This is a telephone-based position, where you will be required to build rapport, trust, and relationships with your customers to enable you to provide an advised recommendation based on the customers' needs and circumstances with the ability to document information in a clear and accurate manner. Key Accountabilities - Compliantly generate and conduct mortgage, Further Advances (FA), Transfer of Equity and Contract Variation interviews whilst identifying opportunities for protection referrals - Build positive relationships with new and existing customers offering a tailored approach to their needs - Generate and retain business for the Society by delivering the Society brand values - Ensure that any follow up action is taken and recorded - Deal with members enquiries in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. - Maintain knowledge of all products and procedures, adhering to agreed processes. - Build excellent working relationships with other team members and other business areas. - Follow up all ongoing leads within agreed timescales - Ensure involvement in team briefings and work with the Team Manager and colleagues to ensure that all customer lending objectives are met - Respond to changing business needs positively and enthusiastically. - Ensure effective administration - Maintain Certification under relevant mortgage regimes. Skills and Experience - Full CeMAP (or equivalent) essential - Previous experience in Mortgage Advice - Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple sources of information - Proven track record in achieving objectives and performance measures - Diploma in Mortgage Advice and Practice or the desire to study towards the qualification This role is subject to a fit and proper review under the FCA certified regime.
