My client based in Cambridge is looking for a Trainee Accountant to assist the wider Business Team in the provision of accounting and Business Services to a wide range of clients. Responsibilities -To gain and demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Bookkeeping -Demonstrates an awareness of the purpose of statutory accounting. -To gain and demonstrate a competence in and understanding of, the principles of double entry book-keeping through satisfactory posting and reconciliation work. -Demonstrates a promising standard of competence in drafting sole trader accounts tasks i.e. most basic work is produced accurately. -Demonstrates ability to adhere to required job procedures: i.e. follows instructions from his/her supervisor, asks questions when appropriate and drafts work to required compliance and presentation standards. -Casting and calling accounts and banking responsibilities -Client record control including Booking client records in, and delivery and collection of client records -Verification of Accounts -Annual returns -Daily banking -Billing Analysis -Monitoring the Gateway website -Has proven IT capability using relevant accounting software correctly. -Ensures basic assignments and duties are completed to time guidelines given by supervisor, regularly informing supervisor/team leader of work progress. -Seeks help and support with queries and more complex tasks and refers matters beyond current experience/capability level to others. -Can be relied upon to talk to team colleagues professionally: is an emerging team player. -Shows willingness to learn from colleagues and to accept instructions. -Is polite and helpful to clients. Training And Development -AAT (Intermediate and Technician levels) -A specifically designed program of student practical training courses -Six monthly appraisal meetings and regular informal catch ups to monitor progression. Work Pattern -37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00am-5:30pm) -One hour unpaid lunch break.
