London Community Land Trust believes London is great because of the people that live and work in this city. London CLT works with communities to create genuinely and permanently affordable homes that are priced according to local incomes, ensuring Londoners are no longer forced to leave the neighbourhoods they call home.

The Role – Campaigns Manager

Given the extent of the housing crisis, London CLT has ambitious plans for growth. These plans include building hundreds of genuinely and permanently affordable homes across the city, accessing land through organising campaigns of local people who fight for CLT homes in their neighbourhood.

To drive its growth, London CLT is now creating a new Campaigns Manager role. Reporting to the Communities and Campaigns Director, you will work as part of the team of 6 staff to help develop and combine campaigns for CLT homes across London. The role will include devising local campaign strategies, helping train local people in what CLT homes are, what building them entails and helping them to make key decisions throughout the process. The Campaigns Manager will also look for opportunities to combine these local organising campaigns into London-wide actions, ensuring regional policy is influenced and that the movement can be greater than the sum of its parts.

This role provides a unique development opportunity for a talented individual with an ability to combine strategic thinking with practical campaign capabilities to ultimately make a lasting difference to people’s lives.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • At least 2 year’s experience of running campaigns involving groups of volunteers, members of a local community and/or activists.
  • Solid organisational, prioritisation and time management skills with the proven ability to coordinate and track multiple projects simultaneously and to meet tight and conflicting deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of high profile partners, volunteers and team members.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience of managing relationships with funders, built environment and financial professionals and internal stakeholders.
  • The capacity and confidence to influence people at the highest level from the worlds of housing, government, politics, business, and others with a public profile.
  • An understanding of the affordable housing sector and the wider housing community.
