We are looking for a flexible and dedicated team-player who has a sense of humour, unlimited patience and ability to communicate and get on well with a large and diverse staff group. The list of responsibilities is broad and includes almost every aspect of maintaining, or coordinating the maintenance of a safe and secure school. Experience of working in a similar environment would be an obvious advantage.

The site manager is responsible to the Headteacher for the day-to-day operational site management, safety and security of the school.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week on a flexible basis, which could include a split shift and it is a condition of employment that there may be times when the post holder is required to work in excess of contractual hours (open evenings, summer fair and the like).

A job description is attached and further information is available from the school, but the position includes managing health and safety, including risk assessments, line managing cleaning and other premises staff, managing contractors or visitors to the site and unlocking/locking up.

Wincheap Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Canterbury, close to routes into London, Ashford, Maidstone and Dover and within easy walking distance of the City Centre. The school is well resourced and occupies a large site with its own playing fields. There are approx 450 pupils on roll.

The school offers its pupils a broad and balanced curriculum with an emphasis on the arts and has a specialist designation with a speech, language and communication department on site.
