Field Service Train Testing Engineers We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service / Train Testing Engineer as part of their Service Team for a world leading Systems supplier of Braking systems to the rail industry, based at their client's facilities in County Durham, Doncaster and Edinburgh. These requirements are due to the upturn in the work load of the company together with the need to continue to maintain the customer support for the maintenance projects, plus new contracts. Role: The Service Team provides a specialist, centralised technical support to the business, introducing and maintaining value added services to the business portfolio with specific focus on the Company's ambition to deliver world class services and will: - Maintain and develop a detailed knowledge of current and future products - Lead for customers' technical issues and investigation of field failure - Monitor the in-service performance of the equipment to identify problem areas and programmes and dedicated technical support visits - Make recommendations and take actions to affect a solution - Must be able to give presentations on technical investigation at customers' meetings - Create product briefings/service information documents Responsibilities: - Critical thinking and problem solving skills - Motivation and self-discipline to work remotely and independently - Planning and organising, decision making - Work closely with all external and internal customers and create a positive relationship - Willingness and availability to travel at short notice, as you will be required to travel throughout the UK, Europe and, at times, worldwide to provide support to the Group and customers at their sites. Travel can be for anything from a few days to up to 2/3 weeks or more at a time - You will be required to be on standby one weekend in the month Professional experience and/or qualifications: - Apprentice trained, HNC, HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, both electrical and mechanical - High level of customer liaison skills - Good standard of computer literacy - Full and clean driving licence - Knowledge of working in a railway environment (Train Fitting) ideal Benefits * Salary - £40,000 to £49,000 - dependent upon experience.
