We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At Halton Housing we are currently looking for an Income Assistant to come join our Finance & Assurance team based in Widnes. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £16,334 - £19,216 per annum. Halton Housing is a forward thinking and dynamic not for profit housing association that owns and manages 6,800 homes in the Cheshire towns of Runcorn and Widnes. We employ over 300 talented members of staff, including 80 specialist trades people in our Construction Services team. More about the Income Assistant role As our Income Assistant it will be your responsibility to provide a high quality, proactive and customer focused service for the Trust. You will ensure that the Trusts rent system is up to date with all cash and payments received and that all postings made are allocated accurately and on a timely basis. You will also ensure any issues surrounding the allocation of monies and balances on the Trusts rent accounts are resolved in line with the Trust policies and procedures. Duties required of our Income Assistant Rents - To process all cash, external payments and rent adjustments to the rent accounting system in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures - To investigate both current and former customers rent accounts in response to requests for credit refunds. - To assist with the maintenance and reporting of subaccounts on the rents system - To monitor the daily reports to ensure all cash has been posted and take action to resolve instances where there has been an issue. - To respond to queries from other members of staff and customers relating to rent accounts. - To assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual reports to internal and external customers. - To assist with the processes to ensure that standing orders, direct debits and debit card payments are updated in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures. - To assist with the processes to ensure that the rent accounting system is updated when a property is sold and that the appropriate reconciliation is undertaken on a quarterly basis. Accounting - To ensure all working papers are prepared to a high standard and are made available for the internal and external auditors. - To ensure that journal entries are made in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Trust. - To assist with the weekly reconciliation process that takes place between the financial and housing system. Customer Queries - To resolve complex customer queries as they arise and monitor the work tasks assigned to the Income section. - To liaise with HBC or other regulatory body regarding customers' accounts, overpayments, back dates etc. as required.
