Recently commissioned by the London Borough of Bromley and Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group, Bromley Third Sector Enterprise (BTSE) will be providing a new approach to supporting Bromley residents including;

  • Support of older people
  • Adults with long term health conditions
  • Adults with learning disabilities
  • Adults with physical disabilities
  • People with mental health issues
  • Carers

This is an exciting time to become part of the team at Bromley Mencap as we work with our partners Age UK Bromley & Greenwich, Bromley & Lewisham Mind, Citizens Advice Bromley and Community Links Bromley. We will deliver services for local people to help them maintain both their physical and mental health as well as their independence and employment opportunities.

About the role:

The Primary and Secondary Intervention Services (PSIS) will provide support and activities for individuals with a learning disability who would benefit from early intervention and preventative support.

As the Information and Training Officer, you will work with the Adult Early Intervention Service team within the Council and Bromley Healthcare to identify individuals who would benefit from the service. You will also provide relevant and accurate information, support, guidance and signposting in an accessible format where necessary.

You will act in a key working capacity where necessary, ensuring services are joined up and holistic, providing advocacy, and attend case management meetings as required.

Requirements:

Reporting to the Family Services Manager, here are some of the skills that will make you stand out:

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities
  • An ability to travel independently throughout the borough to provide support at satellite bases and home visits, preferably by car
  • An ability to carry out research and provide information about community services; assistive technology and to maintain links with these facilities and services
  • An ability to create action plans for the future and for emergencies using a person-centred approach
