The Financial Accounting Unit (FAU) performs financial accounting for World Vision UK (WVUK) including the delivery of financial services, designing and implementing its financial control environment and performing treasury management. Amongst other activities, the Senior Financial Specialist – Treasury role shall focus on the delivery of efficient treasury administration required by the organisation, balancing the delivery of good customer service with strict enforcement of organisational financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Proactively work with the Senior Treasury and Tax Accountant to efficiently and effectively manage the organisation’s treasury activities and external relationships, while also providing administration and training to internal stakeholders/users.This includes proposing actions to ensure that the organisation’s treasury operations are strictly maintained within Board-approved parameters, identifying risks and potential issues before they occur.
  2. Primary execution of cash remittances including the purchase of foreign currency. Update daily bank balance schedules and recommend actions.
  3. Support the Senior Treasury and Tax Accountant in:(a) preparing direct and indirect tax returns and related accounting and compliance activity; and (b) monitoring and forecasting organisational cash flow to facilitate informed financial decision making.
  4. Perform accounting activities, including correction journals and accounting for prepayments, accruals and fixed assets. Post the daily Echo interface file.
  5. Daily bank reconciliation of the donor bank account and monthly reconciliation of other financial accounts including Balance sheet reconciliations
  6. Support FAU activities in continuous process improvement planning and coordination and execution, in particular associated with the implementation of the new financial accounting system.
  7. Deputise for Senior Treasury and Tax Accountant during periods of absence, attending relevant treasury meetings, escalating issues and making decisions as appropriate. Cover for Financial Accountant and Senior Financial Specialist – Interoffice when necessary.
