Our client is one of the UK's largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire. They are now looking to appoint two Student Services Advisors - one to join them on a permanent basis and the other for a 6 month fixed term contract. Providing an efficient and effective service to their students, you will handle all day to day student enquiries and issue appropriate information in response, including face to face, telephone, chat on line and email enquiries. It will be your responsibility to maintain a 'one stop shop' enrolment process for all students, including interviewing and enrolment onto the College system, whilst supporting students with UCAS queries and processing all applications through the UCAS portal. The Student Services Advisor must also attend local schools for advice and guidance sessions and link regularly with schools regarding information sharing on students. Organising transport arrangements and information for students, you will monitor attendance and liaise with parents/carers to support students to attend College. This role requires a pro-active and self-motivated individual who has experience of providing advice and guidance within an organisation. Comfortable dealing with difficult people and sensitive situations, you will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Advice and Guidance and have knowledge of student support issues. With excellent organisational and time management skills, you will be a strong team player who is aware of the importance of delivering to deadlines. You will have personal resilience to cope with a range of difficult situations and have knowledge of entitlements available through Government and charitable agencies. The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable. A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you will also be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.
