IT NETWORK SUPPORT MANAGER - Based in Tunbridge Wells Salary up to £32000.00 plus fantastic benefits My outstanding Insurance Client is looking to bring on board an ambitious and proactive IT Network Manager. The role is based in Tunbridge Wells and will provide overall IT network support for the firm to maintain the IT network and provide level 1 support for about 100 users across Europe. The maintenance of their Network is outsourced to a third-party provider which will also have to be managed and held to SLA. The role will also provide End User Level 1 support and the management of the IT equipment. The role will initially be a stand-alone position and over a 6-month period one additional support resource could join which you would have to recruit. Objectives / Key Accountabilities - You will be responsible for maintaining the company's computer networks, and also to oversee the provisioning of the end-user's services and provide first rate technical support either yourself or through our third party. - Put in place recovery plans to mitigate any problems with the system to minimise any disruption to the business. - The role is ultimately responsible for data security and integrity. - The role covers the management of the system hardware, operating systems, software, and procedures that adhere to the firm's values and goals. The overall role is to enable partners and staff to effectively work and minimize their time spent on IT. - Manage the annual IT Budget to plan for all planned IT network development. Responsibilities - Plan, get approval for and implement and monitor any changes in infrastructure configuration - Install new servers and configure hardware whenever required and approved by the Executive Committee - Develop and maintain system standards - Set up system monitoring for security purposes as well as daily back ups - Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority - Work with the team to enhance current technologies to improve client services - Develop best practices and written documentation for all server maintenance - You will work as part of a small IT team with project managers, business analysts and developers. - You could also be asked to attend meetings to discuss the IT needs of the business, from an operational or profit/service related viewpoint. - When a new system is being installed it may be necessary to work out of hours or at the weekend to minimise disruption to the office. It's also possible you will occasionally be on call during the evenings to manage any network problems, and overtime will be paid. - Manage hardware and software vendor relationships - Work with team to enhance current technologies to improve staff services; Plan, implement and monitor changes in infrastructure configurations. Develop and maintain system standards - Promote IT policies, practices and decisions which recognise the current and evolving needs of all key stakeholders - Act as a business enabler, partnering with all areas of the business - Develop best practices and written documentation - Lead strategic partnerships and relationships with sourcing services and the suppliers of in-house provisioning of IT skills - Align IT risk management with company- / Group-wide risk management Skills Required: · A Degree or Diploma for IT Practitioners, OCR Higher Level award for IT professionals, BTEC/HND in Computing and NVQs for IT professionals) - Proven track record of 5 years, and relevant experience such as a previous role as a network engineer, IT support technician or IT manager. - In-depth knowledge of all networks, especially those used by the company - Interpersonal skills and experience in presenting - Problem solving and project management experience - Negotiation skills - Team working skills - Understanding of business - Financial planning and budgeting experience - Languages: Fluent English & French ideally although not essential
