The main purpose of the role is to lead, motivate and co-ordinate the work of the Accounts Payable team to ensure that the contractual service level agreement is delivered to the highest possible standard for our client and their customers, suppliers and providers. Key Tasks and responsibilities: - Direct leadership of a team of 10 accounts payable officers including conducting the team meetings and 1-2-1 performance reviews. - To monitor and manage performance against service level agreements ensuring policy, procedures and controls are being adhered to and payment timetables met. - To deal with payment related processing and enquiries from client departments, providers and suppliers for a range of goods and services provided and other types of payments to be made from the authority. - To take responsibility for more complex accounts payable works. - To deliver training and maintaining up-to-date working procedures. - To attend management meeting and meetings with Clients and other external organisations - To produce monthly reporting information. - To support Line manager and service line initiatives and strategy Essential qualifications and experience: - Previous management experience would be an advantage - Educated to GCSE level or above with English and Maths of Grade C or above - Experience in working in an Accounts Payable section would be an advantage - Knowledge of using Carefirst and Oracle would be an advantage - Good IT skills encompassing the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook - Attention to detail and able to work to a high degree of accuracy - Good communication skills both written and verbal - Customer focused - Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines To comply with the government's Baseline Security Personnel Standard Verification process, this job is subject to completion of a Disclosure Scotland check
