IRCA Auditor for Defence Electronics (DAOS) - Manchester, North West

This is a permanent opportunity.


You will work alongside the quality team managing processes and standardising metrics.
You will mentor employees on quality basics and support the quality team across all departmental issues.
You will manage Quality for key programmes, working with customers and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.
The Quality Function is made up of 5 employees and is undergoing an exciting period of growth.


To provide support and independent quality assurance to the engineering team during the development, qualification and certification of new designs.
Communicate/integrate quality issues between internal disciplines.
Participating in design reviews and Design Verification Test (DVT) and approving Design Verification Test Reports (DVTR).
Failures handling and CAPA, customer complaints.
Maintain appropriate processes and ensure adequate governance by conducting internal quality audits. Complying with safety requirements.
Provide suitable quality handover of products into production
Assist with Configuration Control governance and compliance within PLM.
Review and update QMS procedures.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist with implementation within the engineering team


IRCA Internal auditor qualification
Knowledge of EASA 21G/ 145, DAOS, FAA / CAAC OR A59100 Quality Management Systems and A59102 Rev B
Prior background in an engineering business within a quality role
Background of Quality Safety Critical Aerospace/Aviation applications Proven history of Quality within an Aerospace, Electronics Design and Manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills and technical English
Understanding assembly drawings, documentation and instructions Engineering and Quality Continuous Improvement Techniques
Familiarisation with quality plans per products and specific project-related requirements. Audit requirements for various stakeholders including, but not limited to, the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Ability to analyse marginal situations and make decisions
Competency in MS Office and other office applications (MRP, ERP, PLM)
Capable of facilitating failure analysis, leading CAPA teams
Passionate and proactive attitude with an understanding of continuous improvement
You must be eligible for UK security clearance to SC level.


Degree level education or equivalent (Quality Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Industrial Engineer and management)
Quality Engineer in Manufacturing facility for electronics/optics­mechanics products
Defence/Military Standards and Aerospace Standards/ Guidance including but not limited; RICA D0254, D0178B/C, Def Stan 00-56, ANSI/EIA-649.
Knowledge of GRESS and/or Rolls-Royce's Global Supplier systems requirements.
