Our diverse, energetic and rapidly expanding Catering Finance Team are recruiting for a highly capable Management Accountant and we are keen to hear from pro-active candidates with a can-do attitude and a hunger to succeed.

Based at our offices on the western fringes of Bury St Edmunds, you will have responsibility for producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts; ensuring balance sheets are reconciled and items closed off; submitting a rolling 3-month cash flow on a weekly basis and producing weekly wage reports.

Working within a sizeable finance team, this is a varied and challenging role which provides huge scope for progression and exposure across the business. We are looking for customer-focused and pro-active individuals with the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You should demonstrate current competence and success in a Management Accountant role.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts within group deadlines with detail to contract / site level
  • Reviewing monthly accounts with operational management
  • Cash management – Managing and reviewing summary and detailed cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis, with a 3-month forecast
  • Ownership of cashless balance sheet recs
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Ensuring full and complete controls are in place on all business costs and expenditure
  • VAT return preparation
  • Managing the Assistant Accounts team
  • Additional ad hoc and project work, as directed by the business

Suitable candidates will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to demonstrate strong personal integrity, confidence and discretion
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Customer focused and proactive
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, continuously evolving role
  • An open and honest approach
  • Determined and focused on achievement
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Studying towards ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Sage (200) experience advantageous
  • Team management experience, highly desirable

Our Catering Finance team deliver outstanding support to our business and customers throughout the week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 09:00-17:30, however your flexibility to meet the needs of the business is essential and is especially true around month end.
