An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, motivated individual to help a dynamic, forward-looking national charity influence policy and practice in resuscitation.
The Resuscitation Council (UK) is a registered charity involved in formulating and promoting high-quality, evidence-based resuscitation guidelines that are applicable to everybody, and contributing to saving life through education, training, research and collaboration.
Cardiac arrests are arguably the ultimate medical emergency, and as the RC (UK) embarks on a new strategic direction, an opportunity has arisen for a Policy Officer to increase the charity’s profile and promote its aims and objectives with decision-makers, key stakeholders and external partners.
This new and exciting role will primarily be responsible for assisting the CEO in developing the RC(UK)’s policy in relation to the strategic plan. This includes:
- monitoring progress of the strategic plan
- managing external developments impacting on the plan
- liaising with and managing key contacts
- assisting with communication of our key messages to key audiences
As Policy Officer, you will also assist the organisation to communicate our key topics, and determine what and how we should be directly involved in, taking this work forward with external stakeholders.
The successful individual will have a proven track record and experience of effective policy work, successful influencing and advocacy and of working effectively with colleagues from across the organisation to produce good internal and external communications, as well as providing input to strategic planning. Previous experience working for a charitable organisation is desirable.
As the Policy Officer, you will have an interest in healthcare. You must also be dependable, conscientious, well-organised, creative, a proactive self-starter with energy and enthusiasm, and have excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
