Engineering Manager - HV Power / Rail Fixed term Contract - ASAP until 31/8/18 Pro rata Salary - negotiable *based on experience Location; Canary Wharf, London Working for an established organisation, the ideal candidate will be required to support the Project Manager in the delivery of HV traction power and HV non-traction power systems and the co-ordination with other systems. Responsibility will include; managing the delivery of Engineering Safety Management, System Engineering and Assurance deliverables for the power systems. Ensure all technical interfaces within scoped areas are appropriately managed and communicated. Promote the identification, tracking, resolution and closure of interfaces with all interfacing parties. Attend interdisciplinary design reviews, design gates and general interface meetings. Manage the resolution of technical issues arising on site. Lead on resolving the issues trackers & support change control processes. Coordinate technical information to designers and sub-contractors to update, manage and communicate progress. Review risks & compliance; ensure they meet the required environmental requirements & CDM obligations. Support the assumptions logs; list and maintain the assumptions tracker. Work with team members to ensure the Contractor develops and maintains the necessary Hazard Logs to form part of close out handover documentation. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with a degree or equivalent in electrical engineering. You will have proven relevant HV electrical engineering experience in a railway environment with a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting railway systems; in particular the key interfaces and integrations of these systems during the design, construction, test / commissioning and operation stages of a railway. A good working knowledge of the UK railway industry and the design, development and assurance processes and HV systems testing and commissioning would be required. In addition, excellent communication, inter-personal skills & experience in man-management would be desirable.
