External Reporting Manager We have a great opportunity to join our Finance function here at Direct Line Group as an External Reporting Manager on a permanent basis based from our head office in Bromley. The Financial Review and Challenge team's primary roles are to review & challenge Group Statutory data with specific responsibility for the ownership of the financial information included in quarterly external reporting and quarterly reporting templates ("QRTs") submitted to the PRA. You will also be responsible for managing changes in the Group reporting requirements and delivering effective process improvements. You will be part of a team of professional qualified accountants managing relationships with relevant stakeholders across the Company and Group Finance. What being an External Reporting Manager involves - Prepare and own key financial disclosures in the Direct Line Group's UK published Annual Report and Accounts and bi-annual Company Announcements, ensuring effective and timely delivery of relevant and accurate consolidated financial information. - Support Audit Committee reporting on papers related to the financial statements. - Ensure that the quarterly (Q1 & Q3) review and challenge of core data disclosures and supplementary data collection for inclusion in quarterly interim management statements are accurate and delivered in a timely manner - Review QRTs for consistency period on period with previous submissions and for consistency with IFRS disclosures arising from the above - Review and report the monthly income statement and balance sheet, including preparation and presentation of Direct Line Group reports to senior management. - Review monthly the income and expenses period on period for key subsidiaries to ensure accuracy of posting and correct application of governance surrounding restructuring expenses - Develop and manage appropriate processes and controls to ensure all key messages communicated are based on accurate financial data - Manage the preparation of ad hoc data analyses following requests from senior management including Group Finance Director and Investor Relations - Provide financial reporting instructions and expert guidance on data and disclosure requirements to the consolidation team Skills we are looking for - Qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - Exposure to, understanding of and appetite to explore International Accounting Standards and Solvency II disclosure requirements - Understanding of group financial reporting environment preferably within the Insurance sector - Ability to challenge to achieve positive outcomes with stakeholders at various levels
