We have a great new opportunity for an Embedded Systems Architect to join us here at Microlise, we are looking for someone with a passion for technology, product reliability and quality to drive the continued development and enhancement of our telematics products. Main responsibilities: - Providing technical leadership to define, develop and deploy embedded firmware for complex automotive telematics systems - Manage and develop a team of circa 20 embedded firmware engineers and automated test developers, some of which are remotely located. - Planning and regular reporting on progress Essential Criteria: - Proven experience of real-time embedded firmware development in C / C++ ideally within the automotive sector - Extensive experience of architectural design of embedded systems - Familiar with in-vehicle communications systems and protocols (e.g. CAN, K-line, J1708, J1939, OBDII, UDS, etc.) and associated industry standard test tools. - Experience with GSM/GPRS, GPS/GNSS, SPI, I2C, Dallas 1 wire, WiFi, Bluetooth/BLE, TCP/IP networking - Software configuration management (e.g. git, SVN) - Best practices regarding security of embedded devices - Complex build and automated test environments - Agile development methodologies - Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and semiconductor datasheets - Good coordination and problem solving skills - People management experience - Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
