Our client is seeking a Credit Control Team Leader to ensure that the Credit Control Department is managed at all times, and in all aspects of work, in the most efficient manner to ensure effective and timely payment runs are completed. This will be achieved by being responsible for the general supervision of employees and for making decisions affecting daily routine of the team Company - Our client is the UK's largest family-owned supplier of integrated waste management and environmental solutions. Role - Lead, supervise and coordinate the team ensuring a high level of motivation and morale and individual potential is developed - Be a point of contact for escalated complex enquiries / complaints - Organise the team flexibly to provide continuity of support to customer enquiries. - In conjunction with the Finance Team Manager assist with recruitment, induction and disciplinary issues, taking advice from HR department - Ensure that departmental KPI's are adhered to where possible - Leading by example by chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter - Ensure debts for your accounts are paid timely and accurate records are maintained - Administer customer credit/debit card payments - Assist in posting payments, and allocate and undertake account reconciliations - Ensure monthly customer statements / reminders are issued via the automated system - Responsible for generating the monthly stop list and be a point of escalation - Lead regular and minuted team meetings - Ensure the daily banking is completed and allocated to sales accounts - Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures - Demonstrate a positive working style with an enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude promoting the importance and benefits of effective team working Requirements - GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade C or above - Ideally Credit Control management experience with exposure to managing customer accounts within a similar size organisation. - Supervisory experience with excellent interpersonal skills effective communication - Excellent level of planning and numeracy skills, with an eye for detail - Good understanding and experience of the wider accounting function - Good level of experience in working with MS Excel and Word.
