An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consumer Insights Manager (Foods) to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for a Consumer Insights Manager to work in the Baking, Cooking and Spread (BCS) Cluster covering UK, Ireland and the Nordics, based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Leatherhead, Surrey. This is a full time temporary maternity cover for a period of 9 months but could go to 12 months, working a 37.5hour week. This role is paying £52800 - 60000 pro rata, depending on experience

Main Job Purpose
The role will help shape and inform the cluster in how and where to win and get the business back to growth through:
-Leveraging strategic and tactical understanding against the 3 growth drivers
-Insight led mix creation and deployment within the cluster
-Unlocking faster and better processes and applications.
You will:
?Build effective relationships with the GM, Brand Director and total cluster team.
?Offer foresight and insight to proactively identify shopper, consumer, customer and market trends to deliver strategic and tactical opportunities.
?Understand brand development, brand building and customer development to be able to influence, advise and add value in all areas of marketing such as brand and category strategy, customer and channel strategy, brand innovation and asset development, shopper behaviour and in store marketing,
?Motivate and lead a team of direct reports, coaching them towards success
?Use existing knowledge, commission necessary research and bring the outside world in, to unlock the potential of the category and brands
?Be independent and deliver fact based, objective views of the business.
?Apply UL best practice and tools where relevant but be open and eager to try new ways of working to help BCS move towards a more agile and cost effective business model.
Key Accountabilities:
?Proactively partner the cluster General Manager, Brand Director and their team to unlock opportunities for growth, with the help of a small CMI team in the markets
?Represent the consumer within the Cluster Leadership team meetings
?Determine the research plans for cluster projects 1st stage of innovation projects and execute research plan in line with what was agreed.
?Determine the strategic research needs for the cluster, pitching to the GM to secure investment, executing and embedding the work.
?Leverage consumer tools to inspire and encourage cluster team to connect regularly with their consumers and lead cluster consumer connection programme
?Lead initiatives outside of project work to unlock growth opportunities for BCS e.g. translating Food trends for BCS and support / collaborate with Strategic Initiatives Manager on their projects.
?Manage interaction with local UL CMI specialists (e.g. MI) to deliver insights from MMM and also consistent data quality.
?Support the upskilling of business partners to ensure full use of: all self-serve tools
?Shape the development of brand assets for the cluster through representing BCS consumers
?Share BCS best practice with the broader CMI community and ensure CMI best practice is adopted in BCS where relevant - supporting the UK/I Cluster lead to do this across BCS CMI
?Deliver customer, category brand and launch reviews (commissioning research where necessary) in line with customer, GM or business process timings to provide insight to achieve growth targets and learning's for future growth.
?Support Sales teams in their use of consumer understanding to build their trade relationships
Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:
?7+years' experience, ideally in both brand building and development.
?Experience or willingness to experiment with faster, agile and emergent methodologies is required to help the business reduce costs
?Excellent Business Partnering Skills and an independent point of view are needed. We want people who can challenge constructively, guide and shape the agenda with the GMs
?Proven track record in positively managing virtual teams
?Examples of driving transformational action within the business
?Experience and interest in Digital Research desired
?Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills to present clearly, simplify complex topics and influence decision making; communication skills both written and verbal
?Competence with continuous data - extracting from a range of systems and interpreting
