Our credit control team have a key role to play in driving the commercial performance of our business, making sure we're paid on time for the products and services we provide. Now we're looking for a customer focussed credit controller to join the team and help recover any outstanding payments and bad debt for Funeralcare. As a credit controller for Funeralcare, you'll be responsible for managing a variety of sensitive accounts in allocated divisions across the UK. We'll look to you to make sure customer service is at the forefront of all correspondence, whilst ensuring the maximum cash is achieved, and bad debts are kept to an absolute minimum. You'll link in with regional managers and funeral homes across your area, so you'll have great exposure collaborating and communicating with internal and external customers at all levels. You'll also come into contact with solicitors, DWP and Citizens Advice. This isn't your standard credit control role. You'll need to chase outstanding payments sensitively and empathetically whilst making sure the business gets the money it's owed.

What you'll do:

  • handle a number of sensitive customer accounts; chasing payments and negotiating payment plans where appropriate and criteria is met
  • accounts are first assessed with funeral homes, if payment isn't received after an initial letter and call, the account is passed to this team
  • support funeral homes with conversations with customers, accurately document notes and updates on the account
  • file account information by date, keep customer in there until debt is gone
  • make sure payments are coming through and debt is settled within set timescales

To be successful, you'll be a team player with good knowledge and experience in a credit control environment. You'll also have great communication, people and reasoning skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. As well as this, we'll need you to show drive and self-motivation, and welcome the challenge of working in a highly sensitive and results focussed team environment.
