Our client is an SME based in Blackburn, trading for over 25 years they have an enviable reputation within their sector. They are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant, taking over from the current individual who is due to retire. The ideal candidate will have a varied accounts and office management background, you will ideally have experience within an SME and will be happy to roll your sleeves up and support the Directors in any ad-hoc admin/office tasks. Key responsibilities include: - Producing month-end management accounts, including accruals & prepayments, P&L and balance sheet - Processing purchase ledger invoices, handling all related queries and processing payments - Sales ledger, providing accurate client invoices, chasing outstanding debts - Resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices - Processing payroll on behalf of c8 employees - Stock reporting - VAT submission - Processing expenses - Bank reconciliation - Office management ensuring the office runs smoothly, general support to the Directors including travel, accommodation etc. The company is looking to implement a new stock inventory system, this will link back to Sage Line 50. Experience of system implementation or system improvements would be an advantage to ensure the integrity of the data is accurate. This is not an exhaustive list, dependant on your experience you may be able to support the business in other areas. As a small company, they can offer a great deal of flexibility, and would consider full-time or part-time applicants (min 3 days or 25 hours per week). You will be available to start work at the end of November providing you with a hand-over with the current Accountant. Experience of Sage Line 50 is essential, in addition to strong Microsoft office skills including Excel. This is a great opportunity to work for a long-established and reputable organisation.
