Your new role
This job in Birmingham will require you to work within the Humanities department as a teaching assistant, working closely with pupil premium students in the preparation for their GCSEs in Geography predominantly but a little RE support as well. You will primarily be working with small groups, and on a 1 to 1 basis, using your subject knowledge to guide them to achieve their highest potential results. You will be required to work together with the Head of Department, giving regular progress reports and creating resources.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this teaching assistant job you will be educated to degree level specialising in Geography or other relevant Humanities, be familiar with the KS3/4 National Curriculum. It is essential to have proven referenceable experience of working within a school setting within the past two years. You will have excellent communication skills and be driven and ambitious. Experience working within a Humanities department is desirable.
