Following a change of ownership in 2016, my client is now looking to recruit an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Director who can help drive growth and maximise shareholder value.

The business has two successful brands; Sash UK and Fitrite Fencing and Decking Ltd. Sash UK has been trading for over 50 years and now aims to become the premier World-Class supplier of windows, doors and conservatories. Fitrite is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of timber-alternative home improvement products; namely composite decking and fencing.

Both businesses operate from a purpose built 112,000 sq ft factory in Barnsley. There are significant plans in place for growth and this will involve acquisitions as well as developing new and exciting routes to market.

The Finance Director must be able to bring additional commercial and strategic bandwidth to the senior management team whilst also maintaining a hands-on familiarity with the financial detail of the company.

Developing a rigorous and scalable financial controls environment will be key to the success of this role. With sound and meaningful analysis of the financial information, the company will be able to move quickly to secure new markets and opportunities. The Finance Director will have a direct impact on the bottom line by increasing internal efficiencies as well as facilitating a more rapid and commercially rigorous assessment of commercial opportunities.

Success in this role will help unlock growth and drive opportunity. You will play a key role in defining the future direction of the business and this will involve working very closely with the entrepreneurial owners.

The successful candidate will have a broad but stable background with experience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to B2B and B2C sales. Your accounting skills should be a given. Your ability to help control and focus the growth of two fast growing business units will be very important and experience of managing growth and change will be keenly investigated at interview.

The successful candidate will have a systems orientated mind, an eye for detail and a nimble, commercially focused and collaborative approach. You’ll also need to be credible, enthusiastic and well-rounded with a natural skill for developing relationships at every level.

The business requires an individual capable of helping it benefit from controlled but rapid growth. In return for your skills they are offering a generous basic salary alongside excellent bonuses based on EBITDA.

If this opportunity is of interest, please send a copy of your most recent CV along with details of your current salary and benefits package.
