Transformer Design Engineer
Transformer Design Engineer required for a highly reputable and UK market leader in Middleton, Manchester.
Your new company
You have the opportunity to join a UK market leading manufacturer of power transformers and electrical transformers based in Manchester. The business are involved in the design, manufacture and service a vast range of transformers and wound components to many industrial sectors from small machine and panel builders to large marine, sub-station and defence applications.
This business are offering a senior position to a highly successful and talented designer, however due to continuous growth, the business are willing to look at Design Engineers across all skill levels. You must be able to demonstrate a background in product design within a similar industry in order to be successful.
Your new role
This is an exciting time for the business who are going through a continuing period of growth, and are looking to expand their design team to meet the order requirements.
You will be involved in the design, manufacturer, and production of technical documentation for a range of products including single phase transformers, three phase transformers, choke inductors, power suppliers and specialist assemblies.
This position is a client focused role, giving you the opportunity to be client facing, and work closely with clients to build strong relationship.
This organisation are the preferred LV supplier of transformers to the railways and that the role would involve supporting research and development into novel innovative solutions to existing transformer technology.
What you'll need to succeed
A hands on engineer with practical experience is required for this role as a level of Type testing and engagement with manufacturing departments is required.
You must have a proven track record of the design and manufacture or transformers, or similar products. Ideally you will have 5+ years' experience within that role, however the business are willing to look at a candidate from 2-3 years+ depending on your capabilities as a Designer.
You must also have excellent communication skills in order to effectively work alongside your team, and also build strong relationships with clients.
In addition you must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

This role is a 40 hour working week, Monday - Thursday 8am-5:15pm, and 8am-1pm on Friday.
