We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer Battery Management Systems to work for a major automotive organisation based in Warwickshire Reference No: J0010499 Job Title: Senior Engineer Battery Management Systems Location: Warwickshire Rate: Up to £45,000 per annum Hours: 40 Hours Per Week The Role: An opportunity exists within the Hybrid and Electronic System Team for a Senior Engineer (BMS) to deliver on-going client technology projects. Key Responsibilities: To be a key part of project delivery teams, leading technical tasks for overall successful delivery of the client projects: - Provide technical delivery of battery management systems for energy storage projects - Interface with clients on technical issues - Focus on high technical input for on-time and on-budget delivery - Technical ownership of areas of the electronic hardware design, development and validation of automotive electronic system components for high voltage vehicle battery systems Skills and Experience Required: - The successful applicant will have a sound engineering background, a number of years of experience of successfully delivering projects in a volume electronics environment either in an OEM or Tier 1 capacity - Minimum degree in an Engineering or Science related discipline (e.g. electrical and electronic engineering / mechanical engineering / physics / computer science / software engineering / maths / control engineering) - Knowledge of battery system architectures and battery management systems - Experience of design and validation of high volume automotive production electronics hardware - Experience of electrical component integration (up to 1kV), design & development of Battery management system products and sub systems in a tier 1 or OEM environment - Familiar with product delivery process from requirements capture through to design validation of automotive electronics systems - Experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as battery handling, EMC, vehicle safety, functional safety ISO26262 etc. - Experienced in delivering DFMEA for automotive electronic systems - Drive and commitment to deliver technically challenging projects - Able to be flexible on work location and prepared to travel within the UK and internationally on short assignments. - Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail - Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, and written communication skills Desirable Experience: It would be beneficial, but not essential if the applicant had some experience or knowledge in the following fields: - Experience in a model-based development languages such as Matlab/Simulink - Familiar with laboratory & field development & test equipment. - Experienced in DFMEA for Electrical Systems - Hands on experience of working live with HV systems (>50V) Excellent package and opportunity.
