Database Manager is required to take responsibility for the company’s data strategy and database management. This role is of pivotal importance to the business, to improve data integrity and grow the database as the company look to expand into new markets and geographies. It involves working closely with marketing, sales and other end users to improve the integrity of the customer and prospect database. The Database Manager will be responsibel for implementing data quality improvements, standards and policies.

Purpose of the role;

Database management and growth

Data auditing, assessment and analysis

Data quality control, sets standards and policy. Polices standards.

Database and taxonomy management, maintenance and performance

Oversees all data research projects, ensuring high quality results

Responsible for ensuring the marketing database is GDPR compliant


Create and deliver the database management and growth plan

Monitor and maintain data quality within the database

Manage a team in charge of improving, maintaining and growing the database

Ensure consistency in the way records are created, updated and maintained in Salesforce by all end users, e.g. through regular training and monitoring, to improve data quality and integrity

Applies standards and checks to ensure data integrity at all points of capture e.g. web forms, in Salesforce and at events

Puts in place systems for data auditing, assessment and analysis to improve data integrity and drive business performance

Tracks data health and performance and puts plans in place to improve data quality in line with business KPIs

Management and governance of data taxonomies; ensuring consistency in how they are used and applied by the marketing, sales and data teams.

Establish and maintain scalable processes that ensure best practices in campaign and lead management.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer database, identifying opportunities to improve marketing systems and data management

Actively seeks solutions to improve the database and its performance, including strategic reactivation campaigns

Works with key stakeholders to establish data usage frequency to determine optimum levels to maximise engagement and minimise attrition

Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize the performance of the data team as necessary

Engages with stakeholders from across the business to ensure the strategy, structure and service provided by the data team reflects the business’s needs

Leads on the data management of Pardot including preference centres, data synching, optimising deliverability, users and roles

Works closely with sales & marketing to ensure database is GDPR compliant and data is fit for purpose

Create efficient data generation initiatives to grow the database YOY


Experienced user of Salesforce and Pardot, or an alternative Marketing Automation software

Understanding of data protection rules and regulations and data loss prevention

Track record in improving data quality and implementing processes

Strong analytical skills (including mastery of Microsoft Excel) and experience with reporting and data analysis.

Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment

Technically capable but with excellent communications skills

Experience of managing team responsible for improving, maintaining and growing the database

Solid understanding of B2B media environment and the typical database challenges affecting B2B marketing
