Design EngineerLocation: StavertonSalary: £28,000 - £30,000 + Flexi working rateOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Design Engineer on behalf of their clients, a market leader in construction. As a Design Engineer, you have the opportunity to join a good team within a rapidly expanding company. This Role would suit ex-military personnel. However, applicants from all backgrounds will be considered. Duties and Responsibilities:* To prepare designs from component or supplied dresser drawings and provide manufacturing / design drawings, material lists and manufacturing process routes for existing and bespoke products. * Offer WCM customer service by enabling the business to manufacture solutions that meet customer requirements, and thereby contribute to delivery of our clients strategy.* Support quality improvement and cost reduction in the manufacturing process through design and process improvement* Prepare drawings / designs to support the sales and manufacturing process, including: o obtaining concept approval o preparation of preliminary designs ensuring that they can be made economically by working in close co-ordination with relevant personnel o preparation of detailed production drawings and issue to appropriate departments (products and any tooling, jigs, fixtures) o Preparation of material lists giving sizes, weights and material stock references. o Provide programming data for CNC machine tools o planning of test programme, simulating service conditions for evaluation of prototype to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications o evaluation and reporting of results of tests, modifying and re-testing if necessary o providing technical information on the product for inclusion in publications and other literature o dealing with patent issuesSkills and Qualifications:* Engineering qualification.* Be confident working as part of a team, alongside mechanical engineers.* Strong communication and reporting skills.* proficient with Solid Edge, AutoCAD and other relevant CAD packages * Machinist workshop experience with ability to utilise knowledge of machine tool capabilities and engineering mathematics* Skill and knowledge from experience in set-up, adjustment and operation of machine shop equipment necessary utilising maths and precision measuring equipment* Previous experience of the design / drawing process with high attention to detail and quality Location: StavertonSalary: £28,000 - £30,000 + Flexi working rate
