Chase and Holland is pleased to be partnering a recognised Nottingham business as they look to recruit a Management Accountant. This is a truly amazing opportunity for a fully qualified (ACA CIMA or ACCA) accountant who will at interview be able to demonstrate a keen interest to develop and learn in the role as well excellent analytical skills to interpret and manipulate data on a multi-cost centre basis.The main purpose of this position is to support the Financial Controller in the day to day operations of the finance team by; ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial and management accounts, ensuring timely reporting of financial information and continually developing the working practices of the company in all areas finance related. The position holder will form an integral part of the finance team bringing key skills and experience in order to assist the Financial Controller in bringing the department up to maximum efficiency and assisting on implementing numerous projects including the development of Standard Operating Practices (SOP), Financial Regulations and Business Planning. As the Management Accountant, some of your duties will include: - Prepare the more complex areas of the balance sheet reconciliation for the monthly management accounts - Oversee and review the preparation of all other areas of the balance sheet reconciliation for the monthly management accounts as prepared by the Finance Office Supervisor - Complete the monthly management accounts package to include preparation of the monthly and YTD P&L for review by Financial Controller - Ensure the cost centre allocations of income and expenditure are in line with expectation and are reflected within the monthly management accounts prior to submissions to Financial Controller - Investigate and analyse variances in the income and expenditure variances compared to expectation and provide supporting analysis to Financial Controller - Responsible for the preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts and daily treasury management to maintain liquidity and maximise investment income - Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and returns for government departments as required, including HMRC - Ensure compliance with the company SOP by performing fortnightly reviews of the debtors ledger and liaising with department heads as to required action The successful candidate must have very good communication skills and detailed management accounts experience showing a minimum of 2 years' post qualification of (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) which is essential. This is a role where the successful candidate must be able to show strong technical ability.
