Due to the continuous growth with in the Parseq family, our IT department are expanding their team in Rotherham and we are inviting application for the role of Network Engineer which is an entry level role. The role of the Network Engineer, under the direction of IT Network Manager, will assume responsibility for the sound delivery of implementation, integration, maintenance, upgrade, documentation, and troubleshooting for both the new and existing Parseq IT Network, including end-point firewalls. Related duties include configuration and administration of associated hardware and software, applying appropriate security measures across the IT Network, across LAN, WAN, VPN connectivity this role also extends to IT Telephony management.

Key Tasks

  • Manage, maintain, administer and troubleshoot the multiple LANs, VLANs, WANs, Wireless networks and VPNs across the Parseq estate.
  • Develop and maintain LAN, VLAN, WAN, Wireless networks, ACL and VPNs related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints and IPAM.
  • Develop and maintain router related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints.
  • Manage, maintain, administer and troubleshoot the multiple implementations of Parseq’s physical firewall instances.
  • Develop and maintain firewall and router related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints.
  • Manage, maintain, administer and troubleshoot instances of Parseq DMZ’s.
  • Develop and maintain DMZ related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints.
  • Install, configure and manage the company’s Remote Access gateway, Fortitoken via the company’s end-point firewalls.
  • Manage, maintain, administer and troubleshoot the multiple implementations of Telephony ISDN30 presentation, including DDIs both inbound and outbound across the company’s Parseq estate.
  • Develop and maintain ISDN30, including DDI related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints.
  • Manage, maintain, administer and troubleshoot implementations of Telephony SIP presentation, both inbound and outbound across the company’s Parseq estate.
  • Develop and maintain SIP related standards, policies and procedures, including architecture blueprints.
  • Work to support the Parseq Change Management process to test all changes across the environment, including network hardware, operating systems, voice platforms and hosted firewalls.
  • Support the network by providing a mixture of preventative support across the estate. Work to establish schedules for required elements of configuration and development of the network systems, including but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls and voice platforms etc.
  • Drive performance and reliably from internal software, network and cloud environments.
  • Using strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to integrate multiple technology platforms, with solid communication skills and the ability to tackle the complex problems generated through bespoke Parseq applications and services.
  • Assist in incident response management to resolve issues and prepare status reviews and reports. Where required assist in the management of investigations of security breaches.
  • Support the IT Operations Director with the roadmap of IT Network led projects to deliver new network technology into our operating environment.
  • In coordination with the IT Security Team, conduct periodic security reviews of all IT Network platforms. These reviews should cover security vulnerabilities using such policies like ASV scanning, internal vulnerability scanning, external pen testing. The results of which should help drive a secured environment.
  • Continuously monitor the IT Network requirements, to ensure that the network can consistently provide optimum service to the business.
  • Support the PMO / project management resources where required, to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Ensure that all IT Network services that are in scope and therefore in compliance in accordance with the company’s compliance requirements, PCI DSS and ISO 27001 where applicable, are maintained at all times.
  • Effective personal time management, prioritisation and planning to ensure that all duties are completed within agreed timescales,
  • Track, update and resolve related incidents according to agreed SLA’s, ensuring each IT network request is resolved and documented or escalated appropriately where appropriate. Ensure tickets are accurately updated with actions taken, resolution or reason for escalation.
  • Ensure that all IT Network endpoints, be them physical or virtual are effectively managed and updated by intruder detection monitoring, log monitoring, security patches, Service Packs, firmware updates and driver updates.
  • Ensure documented IT Network processes are followed and any change in process is updated using appropriate system documentation.
  • Where required, provide 24-hour coverage on scheduled nights as well as out of hours support during maintenance windows
  • Experience/Skills

  • Deep knowledge of network hardware, Cisco, HP and Fort iGATE
  • Solid technical background
  • Good analytical, problems solving and decision making
  • Experience using incident management systems
  • Exposure to contact center and in-house scanning applications.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Security best practice
  • Strong experience deploying and Administering large LANs and WAN environments
  • Knowledge of ACD/Telephony, VOIP phones, using both SIP and ISDN30
  • Relevant Cisco / HP certifications - CCNA and working towards CCNP
  • Strong Customer Service ethic
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers and end users
  • Due to business demands flexibility will be required with regards to working hours. There will be a regular requirement of out of hours support.
