JOB SUMMARY Work closely with the wider construction business to create a partnership between the business unit's projects and finance. Provide support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making. ACCOUNTABILITIES - Manage BU overhead and bid cost expenditure - review incurred costs, track overhead against agreed budget & forecast spend for key HY/FY periods - Manage project accounting transactions, review project expenditures, project cost allocations and prepare project management reports including variance analysis. - Prepare monthly BU reports for ELT - Interpret financial and non-financial data and present the findings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise way - Identify & understand financial and non-financial risk and opportunity across the BU's projects by attending monthly project reviews - Communicate with and explain financial concepts to non-finance individuals - Drive accuracy in monthly reporting by the BU's projects e.g. cashflow, cost forecasting, - Business Plan- integral role in preparation of 5-year business plan. - Supply chain analysis - detailed analysis of our supply chain to understand the risk of entering into contract with a specific supplier. - Provide training to projects to improve: utilisation of finance systems, improve accuracy of financial data, KEY COMPETENCIES - Engages Stakeholders - Manages Risk & Opportunity - Communicates with Impact - Drives Accountability & Ensures Effective Delivery - Makes Evidence Based - Quality Decisions ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE CRITERIA - Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA or equivalent). - Experience in Finance and Accounting roles. - Proficient in Excel and ability to adapt to new systems and processes - Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to make the complex simple in pursuit of clear deliverables. - Commercial orientation, focused on delivering solutions and results We aspire to create a diverse workforce by recruiting suitably qualified candidates from a range of backgrounds regardless of age, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin or colour, sex, trans- gender status, religion or belief, pregnancy and maternity, marital or civil partnership, or any other group who face disadvantage in our society.
