Exciting VP Leveraged Finance Desk Analyst with a leading European Corporate Bank based in London.

The role:

  • To provide high quality research on both a macro and a micro level across the loan credit spectrum in order to originate and facilitate trading ideas. Prime focus will be on the leveraged market, but with secondary focus on Emerging Markets and Investment Grade
  • Ensure complete familiarity with credits on the trading book within own coverage responsibility
  • Provide ongoing monitoring service and be willing to make recommendations in line with results (i.e. hold/add/reduce)
  • Provide input to traders with regard to general risk issues including concentration or specific event risk
  • Seek out new trading opportunities and be proactive in making recommendations to traders on both a strategic and individual asset level
  • To assist Sales team by providing research support on Investor calls/visits
  • Seek appropriate credit limits through cooperation with Credit and relevant Relationship Managers
  • Keep abreast of market developments and trends, and be a key source of knowledge on relevant derivative products such as CDS, and Index products
  • Develop network of market contacts to gather market intelligence

Profile

Exciting VP Leveraged Finance Desk Analyst with a leading European Corporate Bank based in London.Educated to a minimum of degree level

The person:

  • Extensive practical experience of credit analysis/portfolio management activities in a leveraged finance environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to understand complex structures and market dynamics and to quickly develop an understanding of new credits or structures
  • Sound understanding of the leveraged loan & high yield bond markets. Experience of related structured products, e.g. CLOs/TRS would also be an advantage
  • Sound commercial judgement
  • Ability to work to tight time schedules
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills - proven ability to form relationships at senior level both internally and externally
