TM Resourcing (Technical & Engineering) are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering organisation mainly operating in the automotive industry. Our client operates out of a purpose built factory with a headcount in excess of 50, they are now looking for a Toolmaking Technician to join their team. General purpose of position:- The position is to maintain press tools, jigs and fixtures Responsibilities/duties:- - Must have had a minimum of 5 years' experience working in an automotive background, ideally in a tool room and/or press shop - Must have experience of press tool repair and maintenance - Must have previous experience of a tool room/press shop environment - Must have knowledge of single and double action draw tools - Must be time served in press toolmaking/die maintenance - Preferably will have worked in a heavy engineering/factory environment - Day to day management of your own time and tasks - Update and maintain internal record systems - Development and improvement activities in both people and areas - Must have a good understanding of planned and preventative maintenance activities - Must be familiar with the health & safety risks associated with our environment - Must be able to work on his/her own initiative given the list of tasks to be achieved Education/qualifications/skills/competencies:- - Must have a City & Guilds in Engineering principles or equivalent (preferably through apprenticeship) - Must be able to weld using TIG and MMA - Must be able to use manual metal working machines, lathes, milling, grinding and drilling - Ideally with English Literature, English Language, Maths, Sciences GCSE/A Levels - Basic computer skills to enable you to log your time on Kingfisher Personality/character:- - Must have excellent interpersonal skills including people management & motivational skills - Ability to work well under pressure - Flexible and adaptable to varying and changing situations - Able to react to and stabilise a crisis situation - Able to work equally well either alone or within a team Environment/working conditions:- - Those normally associated with working in a heavy manufacturing environment such as lifting, bending, twisting - The successful candidate must be fit and healthy with restrictions Additional terms & conditions:- - Salary:£12.64 per hour - Hours of work: Dayshift:06:00 to 14.00 Mon to Thurs, 06:00 to 11:00 Fri (0% shift premium) - Nightshift: 22:00 to 06:00 Mon to Thurs, 16:00 to 21:00 Fri (33% shift premium) - Backshift:14:00 to 22:00 Mon to Thurs, 11:00 to 16:00 (Fri21% shift premium) - Position:Hourly paid - Job type:Permanent & full time -
