Superb opportunity for a Techncial Architect with a strong Java development background, to join an award winning technology driven organisation based in Central London. The role will involve taking a strategic and technical authority on major development projects, and offers superb room for career growth. What you will do: - Takes responsibility for application architecture including: - Working with development teams to understand functional requirements and define non-functional requirements - Producing system design and specifications and relevant documentation - Defining design patterns and architectural approaches for development teams to follow - Assisting in coding, particularly PoC and technical spikes in order to help developers understand relevant approaches and patterns - Producing relevant technical documentation - Communicating ideas and leading technical discussions - Works alongside other members of the development team including Developers, Test Developers, Business Analysts and User Experience Developers to achieve the above responsibilities. - Pair Programming wherever possible, including with developers from other practices, to ensure high code quality - Furthers the goals of the Architecture Group - Applies expertise and research to contribute to decisions - Undertakes changes to code to support improvements decided Your experience will include: - 10 years on Java development projects with at least 2 of those spent in an application or technical architecture role - Demonstrable knowledge of developing with an agile methodology, utilising continuous integration and/or continuous delivery - In-depth knowledge of Spring Framework, including MVC, and ORM support - Very good knowledge of ORM technologies (Hibernate or other JPA implementation at minimum, iBatis/MyBatis would be helpful) - Understanding of domain modeling/Domain Driven Design, design patterns and code packaging - Understanding of messaging (JMS or AMQP) technologies, messaging based design patterns and EIP with Camel or Spring-integration - Experience of designing and implementing RESTful API's Desirable Skills; - Experience of IDM solutions and LDAP implementations - Some knowledge or experience of working with NoSQL data stores, particularly Redis and MongoDB - Experience of working with data grid or caching technologies such as Hazelcast, Coherence, GemFire etc. - Any experience with front-end MVC/MVVM frameworks such as AngularJS or Ember
