Product Development Executive - Chiswick - £25K


Ideally the candidate will be from a business, marketing or product related background or someone with previous experience or a candidate with a flair for product marketing who is highly organised and keen to take our products through the various stages of product development including product specifications.Candidates will need to demonstrate a relevant qualification or previous experience.

You will be a team player, quick learner and first-class communicator as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders from suppliers in the Far East to local UK lawyers.Language skills are an advantage but not essential, as is the knowledge and understanding of our newly introduced ERP system, Dynamics 365.

    Must have an eye for detail and experience of analysing data and products and when producing written reports, good spelling and grammar are essential.
    Strong communication skills – both on telephone and face-to-face
    Planning and organisational skills – ability to balance competing priorities.
    Excel - good analytical skills – ability to organise, categorise and reproduce detailed information with speed and efficiency using Excel.
    Personal effectiveness – being able to prioritise own time and workload without constant supervision and ability to work to tight deadlines.

3.1Take ownership of assigned products and take them from an early stage to being ready for trial.

3.2You will assess and test potential new additions to the exciting range of products. This will involve checking potential new lines for:

a.Functionality and whether they are fit for purpose.

b.Legal compliance.

c.Validity of selling features.

d.Potential quality or safety issues.

3.3Assisting with product sourcing.

3.4Assisting with generation of cost sheets.

3.5Undertaking market research and competitor analysis.

3.6Assisting in the production of accurate, relevant and concise written reports on the above criteria which will be used as a basis for deciding whether to proceed with a product or not.

3.7Assisting with the management of compliance certification and regulatory issues.

3.8Liaising with suppliers from different countries and cultures.

3.9Liaising with third party test houses for independent testing of products.

3.10Product sample management and storage.

3.11Working closely with the Creative and Production team to ensure they have accurate information to market the product.

3.12Following up post sales trial to identify product defects and scope for product improvement.

3.13Assist by producing accurate information for the PD Marketing Assistant to create monthly Product Decks for the business.

3.14General support to line manager.

3.15Attendance of weekly Product Development Team and relevant product Kick-Off meetings.

3.16Attendance of meetings with suppliers and opportunities to visit tradeshows where appropriate.
