The Client is looking for a Engineering Manager within HV Power and the purpose of the role is to support the Project Manager to discharge the technical component of his duties under the contracts in the delivery of HV traction power and HV non-traction power systems.. Engineering Manager - HV Power London Long Term Contract Rate c£500 - £700 per day The Client is looking for a Engineering Manager within HV Power and the purpose of the role is to support the Project Manager to discharge the technical component of his duties under the contracts in the delivery of HV traction power and HV non-traction power systems.. Principal Accountabilities - General - Part of the Chief Engineer's Group and supporting the Manager of Engineering, the Project Manager and other team members on a frequent and detailed basis - Ensure that all technical interfaces within scoped areas and at works contract boundaries are appropriately managed through Interface communication protocols. Promote the identification, tracking and resolution / closure of interfaces with all interfacing parties including other systemwide contract packages, stations, shafts, portals and tunnels - Attend Interdisciplinary Design Reviews, Design Gates and general interface meetings as necessary - Manage the resolution of technical issues arising on site - Lead on management / resolution of Crossrail interface issues trackers - Support the PM in the change control process - ICDs and IRSs: expedite design, construction and testing ICDs and IRSs to ensure these are kept up-to-date and signed off by all parties - Expedite resolution of engineering issues - Provide guidance, direction and briefing to the Contractors - Expedite acceptance of the Contractor's designs by the relevant HoDs, maintaining the integrity of the project requirements and the project programme Principal Accountabilities - Particular for Systemwide Issues - Responsible for managing the resolution of technical issues and deliverables for the HV traction power and HV non-traction power systems and the co-ordination with other systems (e.g. LV systems provided at Stations, Shafts and Portals, and SCADA provided by C660). - Responsible for managing the delivery of Engineering Safety Management, System Engineering and Assurance deliverables for the HV traction power and HV non-traction power systems. Main challenges of the job - Expediting submission of contractors' compliant engineering deliverables to time and budget. - Management of the design configuration and integration of the scoped asset with others. - Management of the process for Contractors' Technical Assurance of the designs. - Timely resolution of interface issues, each with different priorities, programme requirements etc. Person Specification - A Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with proven relevant HV electrical engineering experience in a railway environment - Professional qualifications in electrical engineering or an associated discipline - A comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting railway systems and in particular the key interfaces and integrations of these systems during the design, construction, test / commissioning and operation stages of a railway - A good working knowledge of the UK railway industry and the design, development and assurance processes - Knowledge of HV systems testing and commissioning - Good knowledge of construction planning and logistics - Experience in the management of leading consultants and staff - Excellent inter-personal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidiscipline management team - Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills Advanced Resource Managers Engineering Limited operates & advertises as an Employment Agency for permanent positions and as an Employment Business for contract/temporary positions.
