We are seeking a talented individual to join a leading manufacturer of quality savoury and dessert based products to the food service sector.

The business has undergone significant growth due to their dedication to exceptional customer service and high quality products.

The Role

To take ownership of the transition of new products from the initial NPD brief to kitchen sample and approval to production and launch. Your key responsibilities will include:

Management of the critical path to ensure projects are successfully completed in line with agreed timescales and that NPD is fully understood and fit for purpose, keeping key personnel aware of any updates and delays.

Working closely with the NPD kitchen team, review NPD briefs, kitchen samples & processes. Compile reports capturing key data, scale-up and methods, QAS, qualitative and quantitative standards, yields and process waste.

Ensuring that kitchen components and finished product samples are retained for reference and future bench marking against 1st trial & customer launch sign offs.

With Quality, Technical & Purchasing teams review new kitchen ingredients and packaging requirements ensuring availability, MOQ’s and technical approvals.

Organise and perform shelf life and organoleptic testing of retained samples to ensure product safety and quality against agreed QAS.

Monitor final product costs throughout the development process and advise of any deviations whilst agreeing corrective actions as appropriate.

To arrange and conduct factory trials and full scale up 1st production runs ensuring that the technical information supporting the new product is correct and up to date.

Ensure factory manufactured products adhere to customer specifications throughout the product lifecycle by attending taste panel and customer reviews.

The successful candidate should ideally possess the following attributes: Educated to Degree / HND level in Food Science / Food Technologist or related subject.

Have previous experience working in a technologist food manufacturing role and a real passion for food. You must also have great attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Hours are Mon- Fri 8-5.
