Job Title: Network Support Technician Location: Edinburgh Salary: £19,363 - £22,123 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Closing Date: 11th October 2017 Our Client are the lead body for Scotland's historic environment; a charity dedicated to the advancement of heritage, culture, education and environmental protection. They are at the forefront of researching and understanding the historic environment, and addressing the impact of climate change on its future. They investigate and record architectural and archaeological sites and landscapes across Scotland and care for more than 300 properties of national importance. They have a People Strategy which will be an overarching strategy to which ensures they support and develop staff within the organisation. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment. Working within the IT networks team, this customer facing role will be responsible for handling support calls and being the first line of contact between the IT Helpdesk, onsite customer contract and suppliers. Overview of the post and information about the team You will be working within the networks team of the IT department, this role is responsible for handling support calls and being the first line of contact between the IT Helpdesk, onsite customer contract and suppliers. Working within the Networks team you will also be working on the caballing/patching of PC and network hardware as well as handling PSTN phone faults at any of the client sites. This is a very hands on customer facing role and will involve travelling to various sites across Scotland. Key responsibilities, duties and objectives - First line of contact for answering support calls from help desk (1st line) - Calling customers to help resolve network issues - Patching and cable management - Documentation of sites and services - Site visits as required for installation of new services or support of ongoing issues - Troubleshooting and resolving PSTN and ADSL network issues Post Competencies You will be assessed against these competencies during the selection process.
