Job Description: Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role: Division: Powertrain Position Description: Powertrain Research delivers new technologies to support future powertrain requirements. This role is with the Powertrain Systems Research team who are responsible for the exhaust, air intake, urea, and fuel systems . This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of our client`s future powertrain development. - Monitoring future powertrain technologies and developments in academia and the industry - Creating new research projects and identifying suitable worldwide external partners (including universities) to collaborate in this work - Project manage research and development activities using suppliers, CAE and design teams, cross functional project teams and management. Report to senior management at required intervals. - Organise and run vehicle, engine, and system tests. Analyse data and recommend design changes. - Identifying funding requirements and source for projects 3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED: 1) Good working knowledge in exhaust and aftertreatment systems: Urea system and SCR catalysts, gasoline or diesel particulate filters 2) Engineering analytical skills: Simulation OR test based optimisation of aftertreatment and emissions over legislative drive-cycles. 3) Working knowledge of automotive powertrain requirements concerning performance, fuel consumption, emissions, durability. Experience Required: Five years of proven experience in automotive exhaust system engineering and development: Hot-end, Urea delivery, Integration into engines. Experience of high level programming and analysis with Matlab Good working knowledge of alternative/advanced materials Working knowledge of chemistry of exhaust emissions Education Required: Working knowledge of catalyst substrates, bricks. Working knowledge of exhaust calibration and exhaust warm-up. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Mechanical / Automotive Engineering Degree BSc Additional Information : Primarily based at Warwick University Science Park but must be able to travel frequently to other sites (Coventry and Warwickshire) as well as external providers (Universities, Conferences, etc) Please note to apply for this position, you MUST have either a UK or EU passport or a Visa that does not require sponsorship of any kind.
