  • 135 - 165 daily rate
  • Excellent on-site facilities

I am currently working with a 'Good' SEN school that caters for primary and secondary aged students with PMLD, ASD and SLD based in Bexley who are looking for a PMLD Teacher for their secondary class to start in January 2018 on a full time basis. PMLD Teachers will need to be able to teach across the secondary curriculum using a range of sensory resources such as Makaton and PECs. As a PMLD teacher you will complete 1:1 support for students including assisting in personal care tasks (feeding, changing, toileting etc.). This PMLD Teacher role would suit both experienced fully qualified teachers (with QTS) from SEN schools or mainstream primary schools - experience supporting learners with PMLD would be advantageous though not a necessity.

The ideal PMLD teacher will have the following:

  • Has had classroom based teaching experience either in mainstream or SEN
  • Has experience teaching PMLD students
  • Experience of the MOVE program
  • Strong subject knowledge of the secondary national curriculum
  • Experience using PECs and Makaton (preferable but not essential)
  • Has QTS

A large school with up to 115 students with SLD, PMLD and ASD, the school has excellent facilities on site which enables a wide range of opportunities for learning both inside and outside the classroom. They run family fun days each term which encourages parental involvement as they hope all staff will have positive relationships with the parents of all children in their care and therefore there is a very social able side to working life. With over 300 staff on site including teachers, support staff and therapists, there is a huge opportunity to learn from their experienced staff in order to develop your skills further and training is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure all staff are upskilled.

To be considered for the role please apply with an up to date CV today!
