We require an enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced professional to join our committed Foundation Learning Team at the Lewes campus. The post involves the coordination of a team and teaching on courses within our inclusive Foundation Learning provision. You will be leading the new Explorer course which will support learners who are still undecided about their chosen College pathway by enabling them to engage in a variety of vocational tasters at the college. You will also co-ordinate the Care level 1 course which is well established on the Lewes campus. Some of the young people will have barriers to engagement including emotional, social and mental health issues and your role will be to inspire academic and social development and to provide an environment for inclusion and to recognise that all young people have the ability to exceed their aspirations and successfully progress onto level 2 courses, employment and training. You will be an effective team member who has experience in classroom delivery, contributing to schemes of work and planning and delivering high-quality lessons alongside having experience of supporting young people who have learning difficulties and /or disabilities or behaviours which can be described as challenging. Excellent communication and organisational skills should be matched with a proven track record of high-quality teaching alongside a view to raising standards and improving the student experience and ensuring high aspirations for all learners. You should have a relevant degree (or equivalent), a teaching qualification, post-qualification experience and a student-centred approach to teaching and learning.
