Service Delivery Manager Position: Service Delivery Manager Location: Buckingham Palace, London Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week over 5 days, Monday to Sunday Salary: £36.000 to £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience Closing date: 15th October 2017 About the role: It's improving our IT services to support our future It's finding new ways to push things forward. Our IT team provides vital technical support, maintaining and developing our IT and Telecoms systems for the benefit of over 1700 users across all Royal residences. Your main challenge will be to continually improve the Service Desk strategy that responds to the requirements of our users, whilst also driving forward our processes. You'll design and help implement key processes and policies that align with the ITIL framework, and help ensure that all support work is planned and documented effectively. Whether it's refining key processes, simplifying transitions between the Service Desk and our operations team, or producing regular trend reports, you'll look for ways to enhance the quality of the service we provide our customers. Customer service is at the heart of all we do, and by reviewing user feedback and KPIs you'll identify key areas for improvement. You'll support projects and liaise with a range of colleagues and equip the Service Desk with the necessary training to help define and manage the transition of new systems into the live environment. You'll also support the Service Desk Manager with the day to day operational needs of the Service Desk. You'll be a technical authority for the team, seeking to upskill and maximise learning opportunities, whilst also acting as a conduit between the Service Desk and other teams within IT and Telecoms. About you: Educated to degree level in a technical discipline and with significant experience of working within an IT Service Desk environment, and perhaps of supporting EPOS and tourism ticketing systems, you're exactly who we're looking for. You'll already hold an ITIL Foundation qualification and be committed to ensuring compliance and best practice in all that you do. Previous project management experience would also be beneficial, along with a good knowledge of MS Windows Operating systems and Office 2010/16. However, it's your strategic mindset, ability to see the bigger picture and analytical decision making that will make you stand out. Your communication skills and ability to effectively liaise with a range of people will be greatly valued. What's more, with a customer focus in all you do, you're attuned to user needs and possess the ability to explain technical issues in an accessible way. Being methodical and accurate you'll have excellent document recording and report writing skills. Able to work systematically, you can prioritise and manage tasks within a varied workload, and with lots of initiative, you can be relied upon to work independently. And together with a collaborative, team-focused approach, you'll be keen to develop your supervisory and leadership skills. Above all, you constantly seek out methods to improve the status quo, keen to push yourself and the Household forward.
