PHP Web Developer – PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Symfony or Laravel


My client are an award winning, fast-growing Energy start-up company who are looking to take on the established Energy providers in the UK. They are looking to recruit a PHP Web Developer to work in their beautiful high tech offices in Brighton.


This role will be reporting to the Head of Development and you will be working on both the back-end PHP services and on integrating the front-end UIs into their applications. So ideally you will have a good full-stack skill set in both front end and back end technologies. You will also be able to assist Web technology and Architecture decisions and work with the team on setting the development strategy for their projects.


You will be working on complex CMS driven websites that incorporate challenging front ends with complex back end tools such as booking engines, stock control, CRM, warehouse integration, trade focused tools and more, so there is plenty of interesting work to get your teeth stuck in to!


The essentials

    Proven software design skills, and must have a good understanding of software design patternsGreat communication skills to allow free and clear understanding of issues and requirements with in-house customersGood IT knowledge for troubleshooting and problem resolutionStrong PHP with experience with a number of web CMS platforms, particularly is advantageousExperience in setting up and managing Linux/Unix systemsExperience in database design and implementationCSS, JavaScriptjQueryObject Oriented PHPMySQL

It would be great if you also have skills in..

    SASSGulp or Grunt task runnersGit or other version control software such as Mercurial of SVNPHP framework experience such as Laravel or SymfonyJavaScript framework experience such as Backbone, Reactjs or AngularJS/ Angular 2Using the JIRA ticketing systemLinux system administrationApp development experience (either native or hybrid)Have worked in an agile environment previously
