Reporting directly to the Vice Principal, Head of College, the Director of Curriculum will lead the strategic development and operational management of the curriculum in line with the College and the newly merged Colleges Group objectives. Working closely with the Group Leadership Team and Directors across the Group, you will supervise and support the work of the Heads of School and Heads of Curriculum Administration and Exams and convene the College Management Group. You will take a lead role in ensuring the College is well informed about developments in the Further Education and employment sector that have a direct bearing on our own study programme and adult learning programmes. A key accountability will be to ensure that the College's current and future FE curriculum fulfils Government strategy and meets the needs of the local and regional economic environment. The Director's role is to ensure the FE curriculum they offer leads to meaningful student destinations in Higher Education and work. You are therefore accountable for a high quality and consistent experience of all FE students that lead to their excellent outcomes. This will be achieved by relentless attention to detail around identifying strengths and areas of improvement, putting in operating plans with clearly defined actions and targets to meet and monitor against them. This role demands a highly driven and committed individual who has significant and successful experience of learning and teaching in Further Education, in particular proven success of driving successful improvement and securing success rates above national averages. You will need to hold a teaching qualification and be recognised as a good or better teacher and be willing to work towards a management qualification. With a proven ability to work effectively as a senior team member, as well as lead a significant team, you will have a proven track record in the management of change, including leadership and innovation in teaching, learning and the curriculum, and have evidence of successfully working with partners, including employers and HEIs, to develop the College curriculum and meet income targets. With good attention to detail and a creative approach to problem solving, you will have significant knowledge and experience of design and delivery of a responsive curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse client group. This post will be based at Kingston. This is a permanent, full time position.
